Check out examples of maker spaces which TinkerIT has been privileged to serve.
Gaston Day School
Along with a large renovation to Gaston Day School’s Science Lab, leadership decided to expand their STEM education footprint with a new maker space which they have named, “The Idea Lab.”
Turner Makers, Atlanta, GA
Employees at Turner Broadcasting gathered in 2013 to create an internal maker space made of employees from any group in the company.
Some of the amazing projects created were the CNN Piano Stairs, Adult Swim and BEMO arcades, Bacon Fest bike, and so much more.
Turner Broadcasting was the very first Mini Maker Faire to be held inside a corporation.
Hackerspace Charlotte, NC
One of the oldest makerspaces in the south, Hackerspace Charlotte was a haven for the DIY.
Hackers here earned a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest QR code. It was also the birthplace of Feltronics, the electronics education tool for kids and the young-at-heart.
Sadly, after almost a decade of life, Hackerspace closed its doors last year until they are able to find a more permanent location.
